French Tax Agency Admits Data Leak: Hacker Stole 678,000 Records

A significant data breach has occurred at France's General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP), with a hacker known as "Zerobytes" stealing 678,438 taxpayer records. The breach has heightened fears among French cryptocurrency holders of potential "key attacks," as France has seen a rise in crypto-related crimes. Following the incident, calls have emerged for a moratorium on state data collection until security improves. By April, French authorities had charged 88 individuals in 12 crypto-related kidnapping cases, with 41 attacks recorded.
