Attention is also focused on Elon Musk's company SpaceX, shares worth about $101 billion of which will become tradeable on Thursday when the first lock-up period expires. As of the end of June, the company holds 18,712 BTC worth about $1.1 billion.
Ethereum rose more than 1% to $1,904 but remains down 0.7% for the week. XRP was the weakest in the group, falling nearly 3% to $1.04 and 3% for the week. BNB fell more than 1% to $595, although for the week it still leads among major currencies at 3.5%.
Solana fell nearly 1% to nearly $74, and Dogecoin fell to 7 cents. The price of Tron (TRON) remained unchanged at 33 cents. Hyperliquid (HYPE) was virtually unchanged at $56 and has risen more than 4% for the week, which is the best weekly performance among major firms.
Alex Kuptsikevich from FxPro said in an email that Bitcoin gained momentum from Monday when buyers stepped in during a dip to $62,500 and pushed the price back above the 50-day moving average. He said that optimism is more focused on Bitcoin than on the broader market, which is typical of the early stages of a long-term shift.
The stock situation became less favorable. The MSCI All Country World Index broke a 5-day rising streak, falling 0.2%, as chipmakers retreated on both sides of the Pacific. Shares of the Korean Kospi, a leader in the AI market, fell 4.4%, with SK Hynix and Samsung leading the losses.
