Why can't I reverse a cryptocurrency transaction?

Hey, so I was wondering why it's impossible to reverse a cryptocurrency transaction? I mean, once you hit that send button, it feels like you're stuck with it forever. Is there something about how crypto works that makes reversing transactions a no-go? Just curious!
