BitMine, a cryptocurrency company known for its Ethereum investment strategy, continues to grow its holdings of $ETH. According to the company's statement, over the past week, BitMine purchased an additional 7,391 $ETH. Including these new purchases, the total amount of Ethereum under the company's management has reached 5,805,238 $ETH.
BitMine's investment in $ETH represents approximately 4.8% of the total Ethereum supply. This further solidifies the company's position as one of the world's largest institutional holders of Ethereum.
BitMine's strategy includes not only buying $ETH but also staking the acquired assets. The company has staked 5,067,309 $ETH from its total Ethereum assets. This amount represents approximately 87% of the company's total $ETH reserve.
Staking is expected to become a significant source of income for BitMine. The company anticipates generating approximately $257 million in annual income from current staking operations. This will support both the long-term holding of Ethereum and a stable income stream.
BitMine also continued its share buyback program during the same period. Last week, the company announced the repurchase of 3 million shares. The total number of shares repurchased since July has reached 19.1 million.
The company's simultaneous increase in Ethereum reserves and continuation of share buybacks demonstrates a multifaceted capital management strategy. In addition to potential price appreciation of $ETH, income from staking is also expected to contribute to the company's balance sheet.
BitMine's Ethereum holdings, reaching approximately 4.8% of the total supply, represent a significant development, indicating a growing trend among institutional investors to view $ETH as a long-term asset.
