The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has selected Chainlink as the oracle infrastructure provider for its tokenized stocks. Thanks to this integration, DeFi projects on the Base network will gain access to up-to-date market data for assets such as NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc.
Chainlink's data will be available to lending platforms, decentralized exchanges, and other DeFi protocols. This will enable tokenized stocks to be used not only for trading but also, for example, as collateral for loans and in other financial operations.
Coinbase's tokenized stocks are issued on the Base network in the B20 format and represent real securities. Each token is backed by the corresponding share at a 1:1 ratio. The underlying shares are held by the regulated custodian Alpaca in accordance with the rules of the Abu Dhabi Global Market financial center.
