BTC Digital Ltd. (NASDAQ: BTCT) has added 574 new next-generation miners to its Bitcoin mining activities to make them better. The Singapore-based company is making this change as part of a larger plan to improve its computing power and business efficiency.
There are 434 Antminer S21 Pro units and 140 L9 miners in the new setup. The company said in a statement on September 16, 2025, that this partial fleet repair is a key part of its plan to update its equipment. The company, which has its sights set on North America, wants to lower its costs of doing business and stay ahead of the competition in the mining industry.
In the statement, Mr. Siguang Peng, CEO of BTCT, talked about how important the upgrade was from a business point of view. He said, “Deploying the next generation miners not only improves our hashrate and energy efficiency, it also builds a strong base for the Company’s long-term, sustainable growth.” Peng also said, “We will keep moving forward with our equipment refresh program to make sure we stay on the cutting edge of how technology changes in our industry.”
Keeping an edge over the competition
Updating its hardware on a regular basis is important for the success of a publicly traded mining business like BTC Digital. With new, more energy-efficient miners like the Antminer S21 Pro, the company can increase the amount of bitcoin it produces while reducing the amount of power it uses, which is one of the main costs of running a mine.
This fleet upgrade represents a strategic move by BTC Digital to strengthen its market position. Companies that don’t keep up with the newest and best mining technology risk losing money, since the future is showing the way. By investing in next-generation equipment, BTC Digital is signaling its commitment to long-term sustainability and its ability to compete effectively against other major players in the Bitcoin mining landscape.
