The US animated series “South Park” has humiliated President Donald Trump in its latest episode, “Sickofancy,” which aired on August 20, 2025. The episode has ridiculed Trump for his connection to cryptocurrency and also primarily critiqued society’s overreliance on artificial intelligence (AI).
The recent episode showed cartoon versions of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and venture capitalist-turned-White House crypto and AI Czar David Sacks lining up to gift Trump with gifts such as Bitcoin and lavishing him with praise.
The episode was poking fun at Trump’s support for crypto and his family’s crypto businesses, like WLFI. In his second term, U.S. President Donald Trump has championed cryptocurrency to position the U.S. as a global crypto leader.
Trump created a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in March 2025. He reversed anti-crypto policies, ending banking restrictions and SEC lawsuits against firms like Coinbase. Trump also signed the GENIUS Act (July 2025), which ensures stablecoin transparency.
He supports Bitcoin mining, aligning with his sons’ American Bitcoin venture, and opposes Central Bank Digital Currencies for privacy reasons. In September 2024, they started World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a crypto platform where they own 60% and raised $550 million.
The Trump family also created $TRUMP and $MELANIA memecoins, which were worth $13 billion at first but fell to $93 million. Their company, Trump Media, holds $2 billion in Bitcoin, which has raised concerns that his family is exploiting his power for personal gain.
South Park Mocks AI Overreliance
South Park episode also laughed at how much people rely on AI by showing a character, Randy Marsh, turning his cannabis farm into an AI company after his workers were arrested in a raid.
A sycophantic ChatGPT tells Randy to flatter Trump so he can get help with his business. It also shows cartoon versions of tech leaders like Apple’s Tim Cook, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg visiting the White House, showering Trump with compliments and gifts to win his favor.
The show also mocked Trump’s decision to send the National Guard to Washington, D.C., by depicting the city as being full of soldiers. It also made fun of Vice President JD Vance by drawing him as a chubby toddler and kept up an old joke about Trump having a small penis and sleeping with Satan.
White House Slams South Park for Mocking Trump
The White House sharply criticized “South Park” for its Season 27 premiere, which mocked Trump and Paramount’s $16 million settlement over a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris.
A spokesperson called the show a “fourth-rate” and accused it of seeking attention with “uninspired ideas.” The season’s high ratings and controversy follow Paramount’s $1.5 billion deal for streaming rights.
The show, which has been running for almost 28 years, has made fun of cryptocurrency before. In 2022, it mocked Matt Damon’s ad for Crypto.com. In 2021, the show mocked the use of Bitcoin as regular money and compared it to risky Ponzi schemes. The show continues its tradition of sharp, timely jokes about current trends.
