Bitcoin treasury holdings drop 1% – Riot, Empery lead $150 mln BTC dump
Bitcoin treasury holdings among public companies decreased by approximately 1% in the past week, equivalent to around 10,000 BTC sold. Major contributors to the sell-off include Riot Platforms, which disposed of 500 BTC worth $34.13 million, and Empery Digital, which liquidated its entire remaining stash of 1,795 BTC valued at $122.53 million. This trend is part of a broader miner liquidation phase that began in late 2025, driven by debt reduction and operational optimization. Concurrently, large Bitcoin whales (holders of 1K–10K BTC) have become net sellers, offloading approximately 188,000 BTC in early 2026, creating sustained structural selling pressure. These collective disposals contributed to a recent 3% price drop, with BTC falling to $66,000 after facing rejection at $69,000.
