MicroStrategy, the world's largest publicly-traded holder of bitcoin, has announced another sale.
According to a statement from the company's founder, Michael Saylor, the company sold 1,638 bitcoins for approximately $105 million.
Between July 27 and August 2, MicroStrategy generated revenue of $104.7 million from sales executed at an average price of $63,957 per bitcoin.
MicroStrategy announced the sale of $BTC to fund dividends on its preferred stock and the repurchase of MSTR shares.
In this context, the company also began August with sales, and the total number of bitcoins it owns has decreased to 842,138. Thus, MicroStrategy, which made no purchases in July, has not bought $BTC for about 6 weeks.
During the same period, MicroStrategy also raised $290.6 million through the sale of MSTR shares. Part of these funds was used to repurchase MSTR shares for $81.2 million.
According to the MicroStrategy statement, the company's dollar reserves have also grown to approximately $4 billion. This means the period during which dividends can be paid using the dollar reserves has increased by 57 days, to 2.3 years.
"MicroStrategy increased its U.S. dollar reserves by $250 million and repurchased MSTR shares for $81 million. This increased the U.S. dollar duration by 57 days, bringing it to 2.3 years. As of August 2, 2026, we hold 842,138 $BTC in our bitcoin reserves and $4.0 billion in our U.S. dollar reserves."
