Nvidia unexpectedly announces sale of 122.8 million shares of SpaceX for $21 billion

Nvidia has reported owning 122.8 million Class A shares in SpaceX, a stake valued at approximately $21 billion, according to a new SEC filing. This represents Nvidia's second-largest disclosed investment, trailing only its stake in Intel. The investment deepens existing business ties, as SpaceX's CEO Elon Musk recently stated the company selected Nvidia as the exclusive chip architecture provider for its data centers, specifically planning to use the upcoming Vera Rubin GPUs. In a separate regulatory filing, details of Musk's ownership in SpaceX were clarified. As of June 30, he holds an economic interest of 48.4% in the company. However, through trusts and ownership of super-voting Class B shares, he controls over 82% of the voting power.
