Abstract

Morgan Stanley Investment Management has expanded its cryptocurrency offerings by launching two new exchange-traded products (ETPs) tracking Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL). The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (MSOL) aim to track the performance of their respective cryptocurrencies using designated settlement rate benchmarks from CoinDesk. Both funds feature a 0.14% expense ratio and plan to stake a portion of their holdings, with staking rewards distributed to investors. This launch follows the firm's recent introduction of spot crypto trading on its E*TRADE platform. In April, Morgan Stanley became the first major U.S. commercial bank to offer a spot Bitcoin ETF, the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT), which has grown to over $381 million in assets.

Morgan Stanley Investment Management has launched Ether and Solana exchange-traded products, expanding its fund lineup beyond Bitcoin.

The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (NYSE Arca: MSSE) and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (NYSE Arca: MSOL) seek to track the performance of Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL), respectively, using the CoinDesk Ether Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate and CoinDesk Solana Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate.

Both funds carry a 0.14% expense ratio and intend to stake a portion of their holdings, with staking rewards passed through to investors. Morgan Stanley said it will not retain any portion of the staking rewards earned by either fund.

The launch follows Morgan Stanley’s rollout of spot cryptocurrency trading on its E*TRADE platform earlier this month, allowing eligible clients to buy, sell and hold Bitcoin, Ether and Solana through a partnership with crypto infrastructure provider Zero Hash.

In April, Morgan Stanley launched the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (NYSE Arca: MSBT), becoming the first major US commercial bank to offer a spot Bitcoin ETF. The fund had more than $381 million in assets under management as of July 16, according to the company.

Coinkite Warns Coldcard Mk3 Owners After Reports of $38 Million in Bitcoin Losses

Coldcard manufacturer Coinkite has issued a security alert after reports surfaced of a coordinated loss of approximately 594 BTC (worth around $38 million) from numerous old, single-signature addresses on July 30, 2026. CEO Rodolfo Novak stated the company is prioritizing the investigation, though it has not officially confirmed a direct link to Coldcard devices. Preliminary findings indicate a potential vulnerability affecting Coldcard Mk3 devices that generated seeds using firmware versions from 4.0.1 (March 2021) to 5.0.3. Mk4, Q, and Mk5 models are reportedly not affected. The suspected issue relates to weak randomness in seed generation on some older Mk2 and Mk3 firmware, not a supply chain compromise. Coinkite notes wallets protected by a user-set BIP-39 passphrase appear at minimal risk. For vulnerable Mk3 users not using a passphrase, the company recommends migrating funds to a new seed generated on an unaffected device, advising caution and test transactions first. As temporary measures for those with only an Mk3, Coinkite suggests either setting a strong BIP-39 passphrase and moving funds, or generating a new seed via the device's "dice roll" import method, which bypasses its internal random number generator. A full technical analysis is pending as the investigation continues. The incident has drawn significant attention within the Bitcoin community given Coldcard's reputation as a secure, air-gapped hardware wallet.

MSX US Stock Daily Insight: Amazon 2026 Q2 Earnings: AWS Records Fastest Growth in Five Years

**MSX Daily US Stock Observation: Amazon's Q2 2026 Earnings: AWS Achieves Fastest Growth in Five Years** Amazon's latest quarterly results exceeded expectations, driven by a strong performance from its cloud computing unit. The company reported revenue of $200.66 billion, surpassing estimates of approximately $197 billion. The key highlight was Amazon Web Services (AWS), which generated $42.232 billion in revenue, surging 37% year-over-year. This marked the segment's fastest growth pace in 18 quarters, indicating robust demand for cloud services. Reported Earnings Per Share (EPS) of $5.75 significantly exceeded the $1.84 forecast. However, this figure included a substantial one-time, non-operating gain of $53.4 billion, primarily from the revaluation of Amazon's investment in AI company Anthropic. Excluding this item, core operating profit was $27.461 billion, a strong increase of 43% compared to the same period last year. Despite the positive results, Amazon provided guidance for the upcoming third quarter that fell short of market expectations. The company's revenue guidance midpoint is $199.5 billion, below the consensus estimate of around $204 billion. Operating profit guidance of $24.5 billion also slightly missed expectations of approximately $247.9 billion. Furthermore, Amazon raised its forecast for full-year capital expenditures to $220 billion, citing rising memory chip costs, which weighed on investor sentiment regarding future profitability. In summary, Amazon's quarter showcased accelerating momentum in its core AWS business. The underlying operational profit growth remains solid. However, cautious forward guidance and increased investment spending present key areas for monitoring in the coming quarters, as the market assesses whether the current growth phase will translate into sustained profit margin expansion.
