Flight tracking platform FlightAware has voluntarily withdrawn its lawsuit against the company Kalshi just one day after filing it in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District.
As previously reported by Happy Coin News, on Monday, FlightAware accused the prediction platform of illegally using its data and trademark for flight cancellation contracts. The organization's lawyers asked the court to prohibit Kalshi from doing so.
However, even before a court decision and the formal start of the legal process, Kalshi changed the wording on its flight cancellation markets. Previously, the platform stated that its contract data was verified by FlightAware, but now it says it is "verified by the Primary Source Agency," with a link to FlightAware's website.
This market and these products are not endorsed by the Primary Source Agency or its affiliates. Any references to the Primary Source Agency's flight delay and cancellation page or any related trademarks are descriptive and do not indicate endorsement of this product or any relationship between the Primary Source Agency or its affiliates and Kalshi, — is written on the prediction platform's website.
Not all legal cases against Kalshi end so quickly and with minimal losses. The company is currently involved in several other processes where the plaintiffs are authorities from U.S. states.
