In July, Bitcoin market activity hit its lowest level since November 2023, according to Bitfinex specialists. The trading volume of $BTC was approximately $4.5 billion per day, significantly below the February peak of $16.5 billion.
The average daily spot trading volume of the flagship cryptocurrency reached just $2.2 billion, its lowest level in the past year and a half, according to data from analytics firm K33. Open interest in Bitcoin futures on the CME exchange also declined noticeably, approaching multi-year lows. The volume of open perpetual swap contracts stabilized around 300,000 $BTC, indicating a lack of speculative demand.
Experts attribute this calm to seasonal factors, as July and August are traditionally characterized by low volatility and reduced activity. The situation is further exacerbated by caution among large investors due to uncertainty surrounding the upcoming Federal Reserve decision on interest rates.
Earlier, Happy Coin News reported that the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, Strategy, has not replenished its $BTC balance for the fifth consecutive week, while increasing its dollar reserve to $3.75 billion by selling shares.
