Abstract

Coinbase has selected Chainlink as the oracle infrastructure provider for its tokenized stock offerings. This integration will provide DeFi projects on the Base network with access to real-time market data for assets like NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc. The Chainlink data will be available to lending platforms, decentralized exchanges, and other DeFi protocols. This enables the tokenized stocks to be used not only for trading but also as collateral for loans and in other financial operations. Coinbase's tokenized stocks are issued on the Base network in the B20 format and represent real securities. Each token is backed 1:1 by the corresponding stock. The underlying shares are held by the regulated custodian Alpaca in accordance with Abu Dhabi Global Market rules.
