说出这句“大实话”的人正是被称作“元宇宙男人”的AnimocaBrands联合创始人萧逸。

在过去的一年,元宇宙已从概念的幕后走向应用的台前,以风靡之势火爆出圈,带动了相关技术与数字资产的飞速发展。曾经鲜为人知的手游公司Animoca Brands也因此一跃成名,该公司的创始人萧逸(Yat Siu)也因其元宇宙的理念而闻名,一度被戏称为“元宇宙男人”。

缘何走上专注虚拟货币之路

萧逸(Yat Siu)是一位常驻香港的企业家和天使投资人,出生并成长于奥地利维也纳。

他最初的工作是在德国雅达利公司。几年后,Siu成为Lexicor公司的董事和东海岸业务负责人,以及AT&T解决方案系统集成业务。

移居香港后,他于1996年创办了互联网和电子邮件供应商Cybercity。该公司后来更名为Freenation,被《南华早报》称为 "亚洲第一家免费网页和电子邮件供应商" 。

萧逸也是游戏公司Outblaze的首席执行官和创始人。2009年,他将自己的部分业务卖给了IBM的Lotus软件部门,后者用从Outblaze收购的资产在香港开设了其第一个云计算实验室。Animoca Brands在上一轮融资中价值22亿美元。

众所周知,与平台控制所有的web2恰恰相反,web3的实质就是去中心化,数据的控制权所有权归用户所掌控。Facebook改名为Meta,彰显其进军web3的态度,但这样的公司的建构方式与开放的元宇宙模型“非常矛盾”,而且,其所有的收入都是在Web2的基础上所获得的。而今天的主人公萧逸,他的一系列动作也正是看到了web3的前景。

去Web3中赚钱

元宇宙的出现连同带着元宇宙经济势不可挡,企业的收入模式可能也会从传统的广告、订阅和应用内购买转移到参与者或个人所有者之间的数字资产销售和交易中去。但这一收入如何进行分配则是现在的一个重要问题,而当Meta宣布元宇宙平台抽成比例高达50%时,元宇宙领域内部的紧张局势再次凸显。

萧逸表示,“Mark Zuckerberg 知道这种变化即将到来,Meta所有的收入都来自于Web2的模型。”

Animoca Brands也一直在为争夺Web3时代的虚拟世界的数据控制权做准备。在过去2年,它从备受关注的风险投资公司中获得了超过8.1亿美元,据相关人士爆料,新加坡Temasek和博裕资本也都在今年上半年投资了1.5亿美元。

20岁时,他就创办了一家互联网服务提供商,并在AT&T工作了一年来养活自己。1998年,萧逸创立了云计算服务的先驱Outblaze,并带领公司顺利度过了互联网泡沫。2009年,他将Outblaze的信息部门卖给了IBM,并以移动游戏开发商Appionics联合创始人身份转向数字娱乐消费。

而今天为我们所知的Animoca Brands,是在2014年从Appionics拆分出来正式成立的,专注于为流行品牌授权游戏和原创作品。该公司也于2015年在澳大利亚证券交易所上市,但在2020年因澳大利亚监管机构对加密代币的压力而被迫退市。

萧逸曾表示:“我想我们是在市场真正被击垮的时候来的——我的意思是,从更广泛的加密货币的意义上来说,这给了我们很多机会。”

NFT,不仅仅只是价格升值

NFT,它需要做什么才能真正成长?

不可忽视的是,如今尽管围绕NFT的炒作反映在了价格升值上,但其使用量仍处于较低水平。在萧逸看来首先要考虑的是解锁已经存在于社区中的死资本,这也是他认为代币基础设施已经能够做的事情。

现在,我们今天看到的价值是否公平都是相对的。例如,游戏活动中存在经济实体,当人们在玩游戏并与他人竞争时,他们确实喜欢这种经济实体。因为增加了网络效应。但问题是,所有免费玩游戏的人都没有看到这种价值,因为它最终会流向平台或游戏工作室。

总的来说,目前NFT的价值也很小,因为我们不知道如何在它上面赋值。当你看一下SAND的代币价格或AXS的价格时,相对于用户本身,它看起来确实是一个非常好的价值。但是当从全球的角度来看它所代表的经济实质时,然后或许你要开始思考了。

实际上,Sanbox并不仅仅代表其自己本身,它还代表了整个元宇宙的一个单元。而如果把整个元宇宙空间作为一个更重要的玩家的潜力,那么它就不仅仅是一个溢价。

那么,NFT有泡沫吗?

这个答案一定是辩证的。

当NFT作为一个行业的确是刚刚开始。毕竟现在没有多少人现在拥有NFT,因此,空间很大。但如果对于资产价格来说,那确实是泡沫。对于那绝大多数还没有理解NFT的群体来说,现在NFT价格真的太高了。所以价格泡沫会破,但行业参与人数会增长。

在萧逸看来,NFT 领域的市场规模最终也会到上万亿美金。

现在收藏市场规模3000亿美金,未来NFT 会让收藏系列市场达到更大的价值的规模,不同于过的单纯收藏,现在收藏性、游戏性、可用性都结合起来了,这和过去我们说的收藏完全不一样。

另一方面,NFT和链游也会扰乱现在的游戏市场。因为玩家们已经开始走向理解了所有权这个概念了。

到那时候,用户会选择链游,而不是传统游戏。因为彼时玩家已经开始有所有权的理念了,玩家本身是自由的。而传统游戏公司很难改变,因为他们一直在靠着以前的模式赚钱,但玩家们会改变,会选择。最终传统游戏公司也不得不想办法,但想要做链游,需要思考很多东西。

总结

始于IP,忠于IP。

Animoca在不断地与一些大IP进行合作,Animoca不需要再单打独斗了,它可以通过这些合作打造更多的生态系统。在萧逸的观念中,是不希望 NFT 或者链游是有垄断的,Animoca会尽最大努力让生态分散开。

不过事实上,萧逸的Animoca的确也是在这条路上走。我们能看到,Animoca与Dapper Labs合作,与Harmony 合作,与Wax合作,Animoca在一种开放的心态下,探索更多的可能性。
