Abstract

Ripple Prime, the prime brokerage arm of Ripple, has launched a Delta One service for institutional investors, entering the U.S. equity derivatives market. The service allows clients to execute total return swaps linked to U.S.-listed equities, indices, and digital assets, providing exposure to an asset's returns without direct ownership. It targets hedge funds, asset managers, and other financial institutions, offering a single counterparty and cross-margining across all supported asset classes 24/7. Ripple Prime's existing prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services cover FX, derivatives, fixed income, and digital assets, with over $1 billion in regulatory net capital. The division was formed following Ripple's $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road in October 2025. It recently secured a $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes in August and a $200 million debt facility in May to support growth and expand credit offerings for institutional clients.

Ripple Prime, the division of Ripple providing prime brokerage services for multiple asset classes, has launched a Delta One service for institutional investors, entering the U.S. equity derivatives market.

The service allows clients to execute total return swaps linked to U.S.-listed equities, indices, and digital assets. Ripple announced this in a statement on Thursday.

Total return swaps provide access to an asset's return without the need to own the underlying asset.

The service is aimed at hedge funds, asset managers, and other financial institutions. Ripple stated that clients can use a single counterparty and cross-margin positions across all supported asset classes around the clock.

"The launch of our Delta One business is a significant milestone for Ripple Prime and a natural evolution of the platform we have built," said Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime.

Ripple Prime's existing prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services cover foreign exchange, derivatives, fixed income, and digital assets. Ripple reported that the business's regulatory net capital exceeds $1 billion.

Ripple Prime was established after Ripple completed the acquisition of Hidden Road for $1.25 billion in October 2025 and rebranded the business.

Earlier in August, Ripple Prime closed a $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes to support its growth. In May, Ripple Prime secured $200 million in debt financing from funds managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance to expand credit facilities for institutional clients.

Dialogue with Epoch Ventures Founder: Large-Scale Capital Rotation Has Begun, the Four-Year Cycle Has Ended

Epoch Ventures founder Eric Yakes discusses why Bitcoin's traditional four-year boom-bust cycle may be ending. He argues that Bitcoin, with recent drawdowns limited to around 50% instead of 80%, is transitioning from a high-risk asset to a hedge against currency debasement due to institutional inflows and lower volatility. This shift allows for higher portfolio allocations and disconnects Bitcoin from general risk assets. Yakes outlines Bitcoin's path to global adoption through three monetary functions: store of value, medium of exchange, and unit of account. He believes Bitcoin is currently in the store-of-value phase. A massive capital rotation from gold into Bitcoin is imminent once Bitcoin achieves deeper liquidity, potentially seeing prices rise tenfold. A key mechanism for this transition involves stablecoins. Yakes posits that the U.S. Treasury, facing a debt spiral, will promote stablecoin adoption to create demand for U.S. Treasuries. As stablecoins grow, they will increasingly hold Bitcoin in their reserves to differentiate themselves, leading to a "Bitcoinization" of stablecoins. This sets the stage for "hyperbitcoinization" as fiat currencies become obsolete. Addressing concerns about centralization from ETFs and custodians, Yakes argues Bitcoin's easy self-custody creates a powerful exit threat that deters malicious control. Wealth concentration among early holders is seen as a natural, temporary phase in an emerging economy. Finally, Yakes explains his firm's investment focus: building Bitcoin-compatible financial infrastructure, particularly Bitcoin-backed lending, to bridge traditional finance with the Bitcoin ecosystem.
