People primarily learn about new financial tools from mass media (32%), banks/financial services (28%), relatives/friends (18%), and social media (11%). The Bank of Russia is pushing adoption with economic incentives starting January 1, 2027, rewarding banks for salary payments in digital rubles. Major banks are required to enable all clients to conduct CBDC transactions from September 1 of this year. The survey was conducted by "Vyberu.ru" and "Eurokredit.ru" with 2,976 participants.

The Bank of Russia clarified that exporters and importers will be able to conduct cross-border settlements in digital currency either through intermediaries or directly, though domestic use of such assets will remain restricted. All requirements for operators and settlement participants will be detailed in the regulator's subordinate acts. A7 had previously highlighted the high degree of transaction freedom in foreign trade as a key advantage of Russia's developing crypto-asset regulation model, while noting limitations for individuals and a banking-centric system that could hinder market growth.
