The price of the privacy-focused cryptocurrency $ZEC has garnered trader attention following the official launch of the Zcash Ironwood network upgrade.
Grayscale noted that the Ironwood upgrade introduces an officially audited shielded pool as well as a "turnstile" mechanism designed to ensure supply integrity. The asset manager also highlighted that the Grayscale Zcash Trust (ZCSH) remains the only pure-play $ZEC investment vehicle available through certain U.S. brokerage accounts.
The latest network upgrade focuses on privacy and security. The newly launched shielded pool has undergone official verification, while the turnstile mechanism is intended to safeguard supply integrity across the network.
The upgrade strengthens the core infrastructure supporting Zcash's privacy-centric ecosystem. The news of the upgrade coincided with an approximate 4% increase in the price of $ZEC, indicating a positive market reaction to the development.
This follows the price of $ZEC confirming a breakout from a descending triangle in the first quarter of 2026. This breakout continued into the second quarter and now into the third.
Momentum currently remains positive, although the true tests lie ahead.

Should bullish momentum persist into August, the price of $ZEC will begin testing resistance near $550, followed by $636.
Conversely, a key support level remains at $450. A breakdown of this level could push the price towards $411, where the 200-day EMA coincides with a support level. A breach of both levels would increase the probability of a deeper correction towards $300.
