Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) stated that the transfer of 2628 $BTC ($164.9 million at the time of writing) is not a sale. This was reported by The Block.
As a reminder, on-chain analysts had earlier recorded the transfer of 2628 $BTC from TMTG's accounts to the Crypto.com exchange. Experts from Lookonchain labeled it as a potential sale.
However, in a comment to The Block, a company representative denied this. According to them, there is no sale involved.
This is one of many potential Bitcoin sales by TMTG. For example, in May 2026, the company withdrew 2650 $BTC and similarly stated that the transfer was not a sale.
Changes in TMTG's Portfolio
The company announced plans to create a Bitcoin reserve in May 2025. At that time, the amount discussed was $2.5 billion. The organization raised the funds through the issuance of stocks and bonds.
In July of the same year, TMTG announced that its investment in the first cryptocurrency had reached $2 billion. In total, the company purchased 11,542 $BTC at an average price of about $118,522 per coin.
According to Arkham Intelligence data, TMTG controls 4261 $BTC at the time of writing. The same amount appears in the company's reports as collateral for bonds.
However, it is unknown whether this means TMTG has no liquid crypto assets left at all. The company states that transfers of Bitcoin to centralized crypto exchanges are part of its strategy, without specifying what exactly that strategy entails.
