Plume highlighted its network's security mechanisms, where each transaction is vetted by security partners before final on-chain recording. Furthermore, Kimber Transfer Agency, an SEC-registered transfer agent affiliated with Plume, maintains the official registry of owners for the tokenized securities. DTCC plans to conduct initial trades on its tokenization platform in a limited capacity starting in 2026, with a full-scale service launch targeted for October.

Shinhan Asset Management has signed an MOU with blockchain network Plume to create a proof-of-concept for a Korean won-denominated tokenized fund. The pilot will use one of Shinhan's ultra-short-term bond funds as the underlying asset and BlackRock's BUIDL fund as a benchmark to test issuance and distribution. Key objectives include testing the overseas viability of won-denominated products in onchain markets, which are currently dominated by dollar assets, and evaluating compliance processes such as transfer restrictions, KYC, and AML controls. This follows other Shinhan Group blockchain initiatives, including Shinhan Card's stablecoin payment tests with Solana and Shinhan Bank's 2023 stablecoin remittance pilot.

South Korea's Shinhan Asset Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with blockchain network Plume to develop a pilot version of a tokenized fund denominated in Korean won. The pilot will use Shinhan's ultra-short-term bond fund as the underlying asset, with BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized fund serving as a model for issuance and distribution. The project aims to test the compliance of tokenized investment products, including operations like whitelisted transfers, on-chain activities, KYC, and AML measures. Shinhan stated the pilot will explore the use of won-denominated financial products in on-chain markets, which have traditionally focused on dollar-denominated assets. This initiative follows other Shinhan Group blockchain projects, such as Shinhan Card's partnership with the Solana Foundation for stablecoin payments and Shinhan Bank's 2023 pilot for cross-border stablecoin transfers.
