Israel's Bank Leumi has partnered with Galaxy Digital to allow its clients to trade Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) through the bank's investment platform. The service launch is expected in early 2027.
On Friday, the companies stated that clients of Leumi and its mobile banking unit, Pepper, will be able to buy, hold, and sell the three cryptocurrencies through a dedicated section in the Leumi Trade app. According to representatives from Leumi and Galaxy, upon launch, Leumi will become the first Israeli bank to offer its clients digital asset trading.
Leumi will use GalaxyOne Institutional for trading and related services. The Galaxy asset storage platform, previously known as GK8, will provide the bank's digital infrastructure.
According to Leumi, the bank serves millions of clients in both retail and corporate segments.
The partnership was announced following Galaxy's report of an $85 million net loss in the second quarter. The company largely attributed this to the decline in digital asset prices. Despite the loss, Galaxy's digital assets unit generated $66 million in adjusted gross profit — a 34% increase from the previous quarter.
Galaxy Digital, founded by Mike Novogratz, began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker GLXY in May 2025. On Friday morning, its stock was priced at $21.38, having risen by about 2% for the day but fallen by approximately 25% over the past year, according to Yahoo Finance data.
