“Free-to-Own”的新模式,最近得到了很多人的关注,今天就来和大家看一下F2O模型到底是怎么回事儿。

一个基于区块链的“免费拥有”游戏

手游科技公司Machine Zone的前联合创始人兼首席执行官Gabriel Leydon正在已经重返沙场,成立了一个新的区块链游戏公司,名为Limit Break。

Leydon曾经被称为“游戏铁王座上的人”,前几天他为Limit Break筹集了2亿美元。这些资金backup巴克利风投、Paradigm、FTX、CoinBase Ventures、Shervin Pishevar、Anthos Capital、SV Angel和Standard Crypto。(Pishevar和Anthos Capital之前投资了Machine Zone)

Leydon在2018年离开Machine Zone,开始专注于探索加密货币,在2020年以6亿美元的价格将Machine Zone卖给了AppLovin。去年8月,他与Machine Zone联合创始人Halbert Nakagawa合作,创建了一个新的区块链游戏,并宣布该游戏将是“free-to-mint”和“free-to-own”的。

这一游戏模式的重点在于免费“拥有”,而不是是仅仅免费“玩”。

尽管在加密行业中玩赚模式已经发展的非常成熟,但《极限突破》从一开始就直接放弃了这种常见的模式,向玩家免费赠送NFT,Leydon认为免费拥有的模式可以减少区块链游戏领域的类似骗局的行为,即游戏工作室出售NFT但未能交付游戏。“免费”之后,就能带来很多粉丝直接“为爱发电”,Leydon不仅想把粉丝变成Limit Break正在开发的免费NFT游戏的主动传播者,而且他还他认为,免费模式可以取代免费游戏和游戏赚钱的游戏。

在我看来想到达到,要说想要取代免费游戏的话,可能会比较困难,因为从砸人饭碗的角度来说有点不切实际,这种商业模式每年产生1200亿美元的收入,这占了整个游戏行业的一大半百分比。

然而,web3的精神不就是改变我这种俗人的固有思维吗。

关于Limit Break的新游戏的细节很少,在其推出的第一个NFT系列开售并且暴涨后,越来越多的信息被我们了解到。

八月份,Limit Break发布了其第一个NFT系列DigiDaigaku Genesis,该系列由2022个可爱的女性动漫人物组成,她们生活在一个不为外人所知的神秘世界。说起来,当时一经推出,我们重构研究院就进行了讨论,当时跟着入手的朋友没几天就是做梦都会笑醒了。

DigiDaigaku系列是Leydon计划的第一部分。这一系列的NFT可能会充当“工厂”,生产游戏中的资产并提供空投的机会,为持有者提供一个可靠的收入来源。

那么聊到此,就可以根据现在发布出来的各种信息给大家整合一下现在具体的模式:

免费加入社区

社区成员获得的NFT归他们所有

那些NFT是产生新NFT(用于游戏、化妆品)的工厂

社区免费加入、没有创建等级的白名单等、没有预付款(实际上是从web3利益驱动的玩家那里获得投资)。既然是免费,就是从一开始就避免交易行为的产生,也就理所当然的没有诈骗的行为。

“工厂NFT”,是游戏设计师提出的新概念,这个工厂希望既可以“有加密货币,以及其解锁超过100美元的IAP消费的能力”,以及满足“稀缺性和生产能力”等等。

工厂NFT目的是让游戏经在不同季度中平衡,获得更大的灵活性,将游戏整体经济增长的收益推向工厂NFT持有人。其实类似于创世空投的概念,早期加入的玩家可以获得未来的福利特权。

目前工作室正在与早期粉丝分享免费的NFT,他们可以在NFT市场上出售他们的数字资产。Limit Break还将为自己保留一个未披露的NFT百分比。如果NFT变得有价值,Limit Break可以以市场价格出售它们,与粉丝出售的NFT一起创造收入。

“F2O” 模型的经济效用

简单来说,这个经济模式在我看来,变现的思维在于在某种程度上,莱顿在免费游戏和付费游戏模式中的成功围绕着游戏性、营销和应用内购买的结合,让游戏项目容易被数百万观众触及,意味着只需要极小部分的玩家就能产生巨大的销售额。

Leydon希望扭转既定的游戏价值体系,让玩家大规模地赚取这些钱,而Limit Break则抽取一小部分。玩家将被激励去做创世纪NFT持有者所利用的大部分艰苦工作。Leydon可以接触到大量忠实的游戏玩家,这些玩家毫无疑问将会大刀阔斧的挺进Web3世界。这在我看来,是玩家通过免费割到了项目方的韭菜,但反过来,玩家也被项目方用免费的卖点吸引进来,主动建设游戏世界向外传播游戏,为爱发电。

无论结果如何,其目的都是围绕潜在收益的想法进行炒作。在此基础上,我认为短期内价值上还会上涨,毕竟要为了未来的更大计划大做文章吸引眼球,无论是波动的价格进一步上涨还是空投物品的单独价格。但结合工厂模式和运营策略来说,在一个较长的时期内,这种暴涨的地板价可能会回落,

总的来说,DigiDaigaku显然不是一个看短期的项目。但看创始人在游戏领域有杰出资历,和他希望用游戏模式改变行业的观点来看,即使这个项目不一定适合作为投资,但它提出的这些理念至少是值得了解的。

毕竟,如果“free to own”的模式可行,按照web3行业的套路来说,马上就会有成千上百个项目对它进行花式采用。
