这个停摆的项目,坐落在弗吉尼亚州威廉王子县,占地2100英亩,原规划投资超1000亿美元,修建37栋数据中心建筑,总面积达2200万平方英尺,建成后便是当之无愧的全球最大数据中心园区。

其实抛开大家炒得火热的AI算力热潮,数据中心行业的现实瓶颈其实早已显现。

美国AI情报公司Data Center Watch发布的一份研究报告表明, 仅在今年第一季度,全美延误的数据中心项目总价值高达约1300亿美元。

摩根大通报告称,基于卫星图像的分析报告指出,计划在2027年完工的数据中心项目中,有超60%尚未开工建设,另有7%已经处于延误状态。其主要原因涉及供电瓶颈与民间反对。

一个无法回避的事实是,数据中心正推动美国用电量走向历史新高。

美国电力研究所(EPRI)数据显示,数据中心目前占美国电力需求的5%,到2035年可能增长3倍;在弗吉尼亚州,这一比例甚至已超过25%。
