A recent report from Bitcoinist highlighted a disturbing trend among early Bitcoin investors that could explain why the cryptocurrency’s price has been in a perpetual state of decline. According to data from on-chain data analytics platforms, these early Bitcoin whales, who hold thousands of BTC, had begun selling their considerable stash. But even after a month of consistent dumping, it seems these large investors are far from done, and more pain could be ahead.

Bitcoin Whales Dump Billions Of Dollars On The Market

As the Bitcoinist report showed, two early Bitcoin whales began moving their holdings into centralized exchanges back in October. This selling continued into the new month, and by the first week of November, these two whales had sent more than 16,000 BTC to exchanges. In total, the value of the BTC came out to over $1.7 billion, showing the considerable sell pressure that Bitcoin had faced at the time.

Following these initial sell-offs into the start of November, there seemed to be a slowdown in the selling, but this did not last very long. On-chain data platform Lookonchain reported that the whales were back at it once again, and this time, one of the whales had returned and looks to be selling the rest of their holdings.

Bitcoin OG Owen Gunden is at the center of all of this selling, recently moving the last of his considerable Bitcoin holdings onto a centralized exchange. In total, Gunden sent 3,549 BTC worth $362.84 million at the time of the transaction to the Kraken exchange, after previously sending out 600 BTC worth $61.17 million. In total, Gunden has sent 11,000 BTC worth $1.12 billion to exchanges, presumably to sell.

Why The Selling Is Ramping Up

With these early Bitcoin whales on the move and triggering significant selling pressure on the market, the question has been why these investors are choosing to sell now after waiting for all of this time. This comes as the $100,000 level remains threatened, and these billion-dollar sell-offs could trigger a bear market.

While crypto community members look for some deep meaning in the sell-offs, crypto influencer Udi Wertheimer gave a short and precise answer: the OGs are simply taking profit. These whales had bought their BTC when it was dirt cheap and have held onto their stash for around 15 years. Having grown considerably since then, with most becoming billionaires, it is only natural for these whales to sell and cash out their profits.

Instead of asking why the whales are selling, Wertheimer explains that what investors should really be asking is “why is btc price not down -70% when so many OGs are selling?” Given the strength that Bitcoin is demonstrating amid the selling, the crypto influencer believes “that’s what should keep the bears up at night.”

Burning Through Billions, Market Cap Evaporates 200 Billion: SenseTime Suddenly Turns a Profit

Chinese AI giant SenseTime, once a star in the AI "Four Dragons," recently projected its first-ever profit for H1 2026, sparking a temporary stock surge. However, its current market cap of ~HK$64.6 billion remains over 80% below its peak of ~HK$300 billion in early 2022. The article analyzes SenseTime's dramatic fall from grace. It excelled in the "AI 1.0" era, dominating computer vision for applications like facial recognition and smart cities. However, it was disrupted by the "AI 2.0" generative AI revolution led by ChatGPT, which shifted focus from recognition to creation. Compounded by US sanctions, the death of its founder, a short-seller report, and a decline in its core smart city business, the company faced a perfect storm. Its workforce was cut by nearly 60%. To survive, SenseTime pivoted, actively "killing" its old self. It transitioned from project-based solutions to a generative AI and visual AI dual-engine model. Now, over 70% of its revenue comes from large language models, a more scalable, subscription-like business. Cost-control measures on expensive model training have also contributed to its path to profitability. Yet, significant challenges remain. The current AI race is an ecosystem battle dominated by giants like Microsoft/OpenAI, Google, and Chinese tech firms with integrated clouds, apps, and vast user bases. SenseTime, as an independent AI company, lacks such a super app or traffic gateway. The key question is whether it can build a sustainable moat based solely on model capability and industry deployment in this new competitive landscape.

Shanghai Sees a Semiconductor Equipment IPO Emerge, Led by Former Grace Semiconductor Employee

A Shanghai-based semiconductor equipment company, Mifee Technology, has filed for an IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market. The company specializes in developing and manufacturing Automatic Material Handling Systems (AMHS), a core automation system in semiconductor wafer fabrication that directly impacts production efficiency and yield. Mifee is one of the few domestic Chinese companies with proprietary AMHS technology, offering both hardware and software systems. While the global AMHS market is dominated by Japanese giants like Daifuku and Murata Machinery, which hold approximately 90% market share, Mifee has captured about 1.6% globally. The company's revenue has grown significantly, reaching 393 million yuan in 2025, and it achieved profitability that year with a net income of 60.45 million yuan, following losses in 2023 and 2024. Its revenue streams include sales of individual AMHS equipment and complete factory AMHS projects, with the latter starting to contribute revenue from 2024. The company faces risks including high customer concentration, with its top five clients accounting for over 90% of revenue in 2025, and significant fluctuations in gross margin, which was 48.97% in 2025 after dropping to 24.67% in 2024. Mifee is controlled by an 80s-born couple, Chairman/CEO Feng Miao and Deputy General Manager Na Ke, who previously worked at Shanghai Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. The company plans to raise approximately 1.191 billion yuan from its IPO to fund production, R&D, overseas expansion, and working capital.

Report on the State of the Crypto Industry by 2026, Featuring Sumsub Vice President for North America, Danielle LaBarbera

The cryptocurrency industry is entering an era of regulated maturity, driven by frameworks like the CLARITY Act and the $GENIUS Act in the US. These provide clearer rules but also raise operational standards, requiring platforms to effectively demonstrate compliance. Simultaneously, fraud is evolving into sophisticated, AI-powered, lifecycle-based attacks, moving beyond simple onboarding scams. According to Daniel LaBarbera, VP of Sumsub for North America, companies must shift from one-time KYC checks to continuous, risk-based verification. This involves integrating identity, behavioral, device, and transaction data into a unified risk view. The 2026 State of Crypto Industry report highlights that while 55% of crypto firms faced fraud last year, effective strategies now combine AI-driven detection, continuous monitoring, and behavioral analytics. Key compliance challenges persist, particularly with the Travel Rule. Only 23% of companies are fully compliant, with high implementation costs, data security concerns, and regulatory fragmentation being major hurdles. Meanwhile, stablecoins are gaining traction, accounting for 36% of all crypto transactions in 2025, and evolving from trading tools into financial infrastructure for payments and settlements. The path forward lies in risk-based approaches that balance security, speed, and user experience. This includes adopting documentless verification, reusable KYC, and breaking down silos between compliance functions to create a holistic, lifecycle view of customer risk and trust.

DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN): A Comprehensive Analysis Introduction to DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) is a blockchain-based project operating on the Solana network, which aims to combine the characteristics of traditional precious metals with the innovation of decentralized technologies. While it shares a name with Bitcoin, often referred to as “digital gold” due to its perception as a store of value, DIGITAL GOLD is a separate token designed to create a unique ecosystem within the Web3 landscape. Its goal is to position itself as a viable alternative digital asset, although specifics regarding its applications and functionalities are still developing. What is DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN)? DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) is a cryptocurrency token explicitly designed for use on the Solana blockchain. In contrast to Bitcoin, which provides a widely recognized value storage role, this token appears to focus on broader applications and characteristics. Notable aspects include: Blockchain Infrastructure: The token is built on the Solana blockchain, known for its capacity to handle high-speed and low-cost transactions. Supply Dynamics: DIGITAL GOLD has a maximum supply capped at 100 quadrillion tokens (100P $BITCOIN), although details regarding its circulating supply are currently undisclosed. Utility: While precise functionalities are not explicitly outlined, there are indications that the token could be utilized for various applications, potentially involving decentralized applications (dApps) or asset tokenization strategies. Who is the Creator of DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN)? At present, the identity of the creators and development team behind DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) remains unknown. This situation is typical among many innovative projects within the blockchain space, particularly those aligning with decentralized finance and meme coin phenomena. While such anonymity may foster a community-driven culture, it intensifies concerns about governance and accountability. Who are the Investors of DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN)? The available information indicates that DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) does not have any known institutional backers or prominent venture capital investments. The project seems to operate on a peer-to-peer model focused on community support and adoption rather than traditional funding routes. Its activity and liquidity are primarily situated on decentralized exchanges (DEXs), such as PumpSwap, rather than established centralized trading platforms, further highlighting its grassroots approach. How DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) Works The operational mechanics of DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) can be elaborated on based on its blockchain design and network attributes: Consensus Mechanism: By leveraging Solana’s unique proof-of-history (PoH) combined with a proof-of-stake (PoS) model, the project ensures efficient transaction validation contributing to the network's high performance. Tokenomics: While specific deflationary mechanisms have not been extensively detailed, the vast maximum token supply implies that it may cater to microtransactions or niche use cases that are still to be defined. Interoperability: There exists the potential for integration with Solana’s broader ecosystem, including various decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. However, the details regarding specific integrations remain unspecified. Timeline of Key Events Here is a timeline that highlights significant milestones concerning DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN): 2023: The initial deployment of the token occurs on the Solana blockchain, marked by its contract address. 2024: DIGITAL GOLD gains visibility as it becomes available for trading on decentralized exchanges like PumpSwap, allowing users to trade it against SOL. 2025: The project witnesses sporadic trading activity and potential interest in community-led engagements, although no noteworthy partnerships or technical advancements have been documented as of yet. Critical Analysis Strengths Scalability: The underlying Solana infrastructure supports high transaction volumes, which could enhance the utility of $BITCOIN in various transaction scenarios. Accessibility: The potential low trading price per token could attract retail investors, facilitating wider participation due to fractional ownership opportunities. Risks Lack of Transparency: The absence of publicly known backers, developers, or an audit process may yield skepticism regarding the project's sustainability and trustworthiness. Market Volatility: The trading activity is heavily reliant on speculative behavior, which can result in significant price volatility and uncertainty for investors. Conclusion DIGITAL GOLD ($BITCOIN) emerges as an intriguing yet ambiguous project within the rapidly evolving Solana ecosystem. While it attempts to leverage the “digital gold” narrative, its departure from Bitcoin's established role as a store of value underscores the need for a clearer differentiation of its intended utility and governance structure. Future acceptance and adoption will likely depend on addressing the current opacity and defining its operational and economic strategies more explicitly. Note: This report encompasses synthesised information available as of October 2023, and developments may have transpired beyond the research period.
