Ripple's Chief Technology Officer Emeritus, David Schwartz, spoke about his holdings in $XRP after a social media user asked him to be honest.
Schwartz wrote that his $XRP holdings had significantly decreased from their peak value and that he now has about 2 million $XRP. According to him, his balances have dropped from roughly 26 million $XRP to about 2 million $XRP.
However, Schwartz's response lacked specifics on whether he had not divested all of his $XRP through sales, even though the user's question about $XRP implied such actions. In principle, his $XRP balance could have decreased due to transfers, various payments, or even donations.
It is worth recalling that Ripple's Chief Technology Officer Emeritus has often spoken about his sale of 40,000 $ETH, which he deeply regrets.
Schwartz purchased 40,000 $ETH tokens at a price of $0.311 and later sold them for $42,000, realizing a profit of 321%. The IT specialist used the proceeds from the sale to purchase solar panels, which he installed at his house in Oakland, which he no longer owns. His main regret is that shortly after, the price of Ethereum skyrocketed.
Schwartz has repeatedly admitted that he regrets hastily selling some of his cryptocurrency assets, including $XRP at $0.10 and Ethereum at $1. He explained that his decision was driven by a desire to avoid risk, which in this case proved to be the wrong choice.
