HashKey Lists XAUt, Marking First Gold Token Trading on a Compliant Exchange in Hong Kong

HashKey Exchange, the largest licensed digital asset exchange in Hong Kong and a subsidiary of HashKey Holdings Limited (3887.HK), has officially listed Tether Gold (XAUt). Professional investors can trade XAUt through its over-the-counter (OTC) Marketplace. This marks the first time a licensed exchange in Hong Kong offers compliant trading of gold tokens. Each XAUt token represents one troy ounce of a physical gold bar that meets the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) delivery standard. By holding XAUt, users gain exposure to physical gold without the logistical challenges of storage and transfer. The introduction of XAUt allows professional investors to hedge against market volatility by allocating part of their portfolio to gold without leaving the HashKey platform. This move integrates traditional safe-haven assets into the digital asset ecosystem, providing a diversified and compliant investment option and bridging traditional and digital finance. Michelle Cheng, Director of HashKey Exchange, stated that the listing addresses inefficiencies in traditional gold allocation, enabling users to manage gold as easily as other digital assets.
