Binance Partners With Franklin Templeton to Enable Tokenized Money Market Funds as Off-Exchange Collateral
Binance has partnered with global asset manager Franklin Templeton to enable institutional traders to use tokenized money market funds as off-exchange collateral. This new structure allows investors to hold tokenized shares of Franklin Templeton’s Benji platform in regulated custody, while Binance recognizes their value for margin trading. This reduces counterparty risk, as assets are held off-exchange, and enables institutions to earn returns on stable, low-risk money market funds while using them as trading collateral. The move is seen as a significant step in bridging traditional finance with digital assets, addressing custody barriers and promoting real-world asset adoption in crypto markets.
