According to the analytical platform Santiment, the number of Ethereum wallets with a non-zero balance has for the first time exceeded 200 million.
Although one user can own multiple wallets, this metric remains an important indicator of investor activity on the network. Moreover, the growth occurred against the backdrop of a general decline in cryptocurrency prices, meaning market participants' interest in digital assets persists even under difficult conditions.
One wallet does not always mean one person, but the growing number of non-empty wallets still indicates that more and more addresses are holding assets, using applications, or staying connected, despite weak price momentum, analysts reported.
Simultaneously, Santiment recorded growing popularity for other projects as well. For instance, the number of non-empty wallets for XRPL and $USDC exceeded 8 million, while for Chainlink this figure crossed the 900,000 mark.
The expansion of the $USDC user base is linked to an increase in stablecoin transactions and the development of issuer Circle's partnership programs with major financial institutions. For example, Circle is collaborating with the Japanese payment system JCB to test cross-border payments using $USDC.
The growth in the number of wallets on the Chainlink and XRPL networks is also associated with the development of payment services.
