U.S. President Donald Trump made another significant statement regarding the cryptocurrency sector, announcing that the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, is working on bringing Hyperliquid to the American market.
Trump's statement came after today's meeting at the White House with leading figures from the cryptocurrency and financial sectors. The meeting included senior representatives from regulatory bodies such as SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Mike Selig, as well as various crypto industry executives. The Trump administration has recently been pursuing a more open regulatory policy towards digital assets, aiming to simplify the operation of this sector in the United States.
Hyperliquid operates as a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain network, known in particular for its decentralized perpetual futures market. Its HyperCore infrastructure contains order books for both perpetual and spot trades, all operating exclusively on the blockchain. According to Hyperliquid's official documentation, the network is capable of processing approximately 200,000 orders per second.
Hyperliquid also operates with its own token $HYPE. $HYPE is used for network security, transaction fees, and various ecosystem functions. According to official Hyperliquid data, over $1 billion in annual fees generated by transaction activity on the platform is programmatically directed towards buying back $HYPE tokens.
