Nexo and DP Tour Launch New Golf Prize Fund and Crypto Award

Nexo, a leading digital assets wealth platform, is teaming up with the DP World Tour to introduce a new prize called the Course Record Presented by Nexo, a weekly reward for players who set new course records.

The prize will launch at the Nexo Championship, held from August 7–10 at the newly opened Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The prize fund starts at $10,000, which will be given to the first player who sets a new course record that stands through the end of the event. If no one sets a course record that week, the $10,000 will roll over, and another $10,000 will be added to the prize pot for the next eligible event.

To celebrate the launch, Nexo will also award an additional $50,000 in NEXO Tokens to any player who sets a course record during the Nexo Championship. There have already been 10 course records set in 2024 and six more in 2025, making this prize a likely motivator for top performances throughout the Race to Dubai season.

Nexo’s Co-Founder, Antoni Trenchev, said this is the first prize of its kind in golf, combining player performance with the exciting world of digital assets. He sees this as a key step in the partnership between Nexo and the DP World Tour.

Ben Cowen, Chief Tournament and Operations Officer at the DP World Tour, added that this prize will reward great play and encourage players to push their limits, making tournaments more exciting for fans.

The prize will stay in place for the rest of the season and end with the DP World Tour Championship. After that, it will start fresh for the 2026 season. Only events played on a single course will be counted. If bad weather affects a tournament, at least 36 holes must be completed and rounds with preferred lies won’t qualify.

The Nexo Championship comes right after the grand opening of the new course on July 29, hosted by the Trump family and attended by Nexo’s founders. The tournament is also expected to help the local economy by bringing more tourists to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Golf tourism adds over $400 million to Scotland’s economy each year.

This prize also strengthens the bond between Nexo and the DP World Tour. Just last month, Nexo signed a multi-year deal to become the Tour’s Official Marketing Partner and Digital Wealth Platform until 2027.
