По его словам, новый продукт «точно не является долларовым алгоритмическим стейблкоином».

Решение о смене курса приняли с оглядкой на положения черновика американского законопроекта STABLE Act о трехлетнем моратории на запуск новых «эндогенно обеспеченных» активов.

Вмесе с тем правительство ОАЭ объявило о планах запустить блокчейн-версию национальной валюты — дирхама — к концу 2025 года. Связаны ли разработчики Sonic Labs с этим проектом — неизвестно.

Кронье заявил о намерении запустить долларовый алгоритмический стейблкоин 22 марта. На тот момент создателям оставалось масштабировать систему и подготовиться к полноценному релизу.

Ранее журналисты сообщили о планах Fidelity по запуску собственного стейблкоина.
