18 сентября в 23 странах состоялся премьерный показ документального фильма о криптовалюте Ethereum и ее основателе Виталике Бутерине, созданного студией Optimist.

Работа над лентой Vitalik: An Ethereum Story велась более трех лет. Средства на ее создание привлекли в июле 2021 года в рамках краудфандинговой кампании на платформе Mirror — за три дня удалось собрать 1035,96 ETH ($1,9 млн на тот момент)

Режиссерами выступили Зак Инграсси и Крис Темпл. В 2023 году они представили художественную картину This Is Not Financial Advice, посвященную Dogecoin.

Vitalik: An Ethereum Story состоит из пяти эпизодов общим хронометражем 2 часа:

история создания сообщества Ethereum;
«Энциклопедия кроликов» — прототип метавселенной от Виталика;
запуск протокола Uniswap;
попытка ConstitutionDAO выкупить экземпляр Конституции США;
проект Gitcoin.

Фильм высоко оценил отец Виталика Дмитрий Бутерин, посетивший премьеру в Торонто. По его словам, авторы осветили основные этапы истории, технической составляющей Ethereum, а также мировоззрение команды и их долгосрочное видение проекта.

«Большое спасибо создателям за демонстрацию личности и искренности Виталика, а также за дух яркого международного сообщества Ethereum», — написал он в Facebook.

С 20 сентября начнется ончейн-показ Vitalik: An Ethereum Story на стриминговых сервисах. Билеты на него продаются в виде токенов по цене $20. Создатели намерены продать 10 000 экземпляров, доход от которых направят на маркетинг и распространение фильма.

Глобальный релиз на стриминговых сервисах запланирован на начало 2025 года.

Напомним, в октябре 2023 года Bloomberg выпустил документальный фильм RUIN: Money, Ego and Deception at FTX про Сэма Бэнкмана-Фрида и крах FTX.
