Bitcoin Exchanges Upbit and Bithumb Announce Joint Delisting, Removing Three Altcoins!
Leading South Korean cryptocurrency exchanges Upbit and Bithumb have jointly announced the delisting of three altcoins: Storj (STORJ), ThunderCore (TT), and JasmyCoin (JASMY). Trading support for these tokens will cease on September 14th. The exchanges cited unresolved issues that previously led to the tokens being placed on a trading warning list as the reason for the removal.
The decision follows periodic reviews by the exchanges, which assess criteria such as project development, trading volume, liquidity, community activity, transparency, and regulatory compliance. Projects failing to meet standards are first placed on watchlists; persistent issues can lead to delisting.
Meanwhile, another major Korean exchange, Coinone, has announced an extension of its review process for delisting Storj (STORJ), delaying a final decision. Market analysts note that such delistings typically exert short-term downward pressure on token prices. They advise investors to monitor not only price movements but also project fundamentals and exchange review processes, as decisions in the Korean market can significantly impact a project's global standing.
