Strategy boosts USD reserve with $748M stock sale, skips Bitcoin purchases
Strategy raised $747.8 million through the sale of 4.535 million shares of its Class A common stock and added the proceeds to its USD reserves, which now total $2.19 billion. The company has paused its Bitcoin purchases as part of a rebalancing strategy amid the crypto market downturn. It currently holds 671,268 BTC, acquired at an average price of $74,972 per Bitcoin. Strategy established the dollar reserve earlier in December to cover at least 12 months of preferred stock dividends and debt interest, with plans to eventually extend coverage to 24 months. Other companies that adopted Bitcoin treasury strategies, such as Metaplanet and MARA Holdings, have also seen significant stock declines in 2025. Bitcoin was trading around $89,433 at the time of writing.
