Ondo Finance, one of the largest RWA issuers, is considering acquiring a company valued between $250 million and $500 million. This was reported by CoinDesk citing a source familiar with the situation.
The potential deal could become one of the largest in the asset tokenization sector.
According to the publication's source, the New York-based Ondo Finance is exploring various acquisition options, particularly companies in the wealthtech sector. However, the company has not yet engaged official financial advisors.
An Ondo Finance representative stated to CoinDesk:
"As a fast-growing company, Ondo regularly evaluates the market as part of normal business operations. We are currently not in negotiations with any party."
Ondo Finance was founded in 2021 by former Goldman Sachs employees. As of July 2026, the platform's total value locked approached $3.5 billion, according to DefiLlama. This volume makes Ondo one of the largest players in the RWA market.
Earlier this year, the company also took a step towards integrating traditional finance with blockchain. After Ondo Global Markets confidentially filed an application with the SEC, the platform announced its intention to become the first issuer of tokenized stocks under the supervision of the American regulator. At the time, Ondo noted that the SEC's disclosure requirements are the "gold standard" for investors.
In May, the company went through a difficult period following the sudden death of founder Nathan Allman.
