TAC Protocol Shows Slight Improvement After Third Suspicious Incident in Four Months
The token of TAC Protocol surged approximately 53% following a recent historical low, triggered by an exploit two days prior that forced validators to halt the network. An attacker exploited a vulnerability to drain a single account before the chain was stopped.
The TAC team attributed the vulnerability to a flaw in the shared Cosmos EVM precompile layer, not in its own blockchain code, noting this poses a risk to other projects built on Cosmos EVM as well. The network was halted within minutes of detecting the issue, limiting the theft to the native $TAC token.
Despite the percentage rebound from its August 22 low of $0.001129, the token remains down 97.4% from its all-time high. This marks the third major incident for TAC in four months, following a $2.8 million bridge exploit in May and an unexplained 82% price crash in July. The current recovery still leaves the token trading near its record lows.
