Jensen Huang's daughter makes a rare appearance in Beijing.
On the opening day of the 2026 World Robot Conference, Madison Huang visited Beijing's Yizhuang district, touring robot companies such as DOBOT, Lightwheel Intelligence, and Ubtech.
This 90s-born "NVIDIA heiress" now serves as Senior Director of Product and Technical Marketing for NVIDIA's Physical AI Platform, with an annual salary of $1.2 million, approximately equivalent to over 8 million RMB. What is less known is that she initially studied culinary arts, worked as a chef, and also served at LVMH. After twists and turns, she ultimately joined NVIDIA, the company founded by her father, as an intern.

The global spotlight on robots falls on Beijing once again.
On August 19th, the 2026 World Robot Conference opened in Beijing's Yizhuang. Among the crowd, a familiar face appeared—Jensen Huang's daughter, Madison Huang.
She moved between numerous robot exhibition booths in the hall. At the DOBOT booth, Madison watched a demonstration of a "one-brain-multi-body" embodied intelligence platform and robots playing table tennis.
At the Lightwheel Intelligence booth, Madison focused on understanding the company's progress in human data collection, physical simulation, large-scale evaluation, and real-world deployment feedback. During this, the NVIDIA team personally experienced the physical simulation equipment and discussed details such as simulation scene generation and parameter calibration with the team.
Afterwards, she visited exhibition booths for Ubtech, Huazhijian, and others. Ubtech's commercial service humanoid robot, Walker C1, holding a bouquet of flowers, walked up to Madison, presented her with the flowers, and shook hands. Subsequently, she spent considerable time experiencing the hyper-bionic humanoid robot U1. At the Kepler Robot booth, Madison experienced the heavy-duty Qilin series quadruped robot; at the JD.com exhibition area, she continued learning about robots' real-world operations and data training systems, watching demonstrations of robots performing actions in specific scenarios, exclaiming "Amazing" several times.
Many people recognized this "NVIDIA heiress," with some taking photos on their phones and others approaching for selfies. Compared to her father Jensen Huang's frequent appearances in China, Madison Huang has not often been in the public eye before.
Just the day before coming to Beijing, Madison led a team to visit LG's robot data factory built in Seoul, South Korea. The itinerary consistently revolved around robots, which also relates to her current position at NVIDIA.
Madison Huang currently serves as Senior Director of Product and Technical Marketing for NVIDIA's Physical AI Platform, with responsibilities covering products like Omniverse, Cosmos, Isaac, and the humanoid robot foundation model GR00T. Over the past few years, these businesses have gained increasing importance within NVIDIA's portfolio and represent the next wave repeatedly mentioned by Jensen Huang in recent years: Physical AI.
Simply put, while large language models enable AI to understand and generate text, Physical AI aims to enable machines to comprehend the real world and actually move. Robots are the most important carrier in this field.
Therefore, this trip to Beijing carries additional significance. What Madison observed along the way are some of the most active robot companies in China today, and they are also an indispensable part of the ecosystem as NVIDIA bets on Physical AI.
Turning back the clock over a decade, her life trajectory was far from chips, AI, or robots. Back then, she chose to step into the kitchen.
From Chef to NVIDIA
An $8 Million Annual Salary
Madison Huang is a member of the post-90s generation. When NVIDIA was founded, she was just a one- or two-year-old child. Growing up in an engineer's family, upon high school graduation, she also considered following her parents' path and applying for an electrical engineering major.
Unexpectedly, the first person to advise her to change her mind was Jensen Huang himself. In his view, his daughter did not have such a great passion for engineering; her true interest was cooking. Consequently, Madison withdrew her original application and instead enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America.
After graduating in 2012, Madison worked in restaurants in New York and San Francisco, then went to Paris to study pastry, followed by further studies in wine at Le Cordon Bleu in London. Later, leaving the food service industry, Madison joined the LVMH group, beginning to engage in marketing and brand management.
Several seemingly unrelated experiences, however, share a common thread. The kitchen emphasizes timing, heat control, and details; luxury goods similarly care about product and experience. Madison discovered that what truly fascinated her was refining a product repeatedly to perfection—an almost obsessive attention to detail, enjoying the process of perfecting a product.
What truly brought her back to the technology industry was in 2019. At that time, Madison and her brother Spencer together participated in MIT's artificial intelligence course. Subsequently, she pursued an MBA at London Business School.
The following year, while still studying, Madison entered NVIDIA, starting as an intern. Initially, she struggled to adapt, often finding herself lost amidst the technical jargon in meetings. She once shared that she created a document to note down every term she didn't understand, researching and catching up on each one after meetings. Over time, the list of unfamiliar words dwindled, and work started to become manageable.
Over several years, Madison progressed from intern to Senior Director. Reflecting on her own journey, she mentioned in a recent speech that the AI era does not require a straight and narrow life path; the detours taken may ultimately become new forms of accumulated experience.
Interestingly, her brother Spencer also took a rather similar winding path. After college, Spencer and a friend opened a cocktail bar. This place had no fixed drink menu; customers described their tastes, and the bartender created on the spot, once ranking among "Asia's 50 Best Bars."
Madison entered NVIDIA first. Spencer later closed the bar, returned to school, completed his MBA, and also joined NVIDIA as an intern in 2022. Currently, he is primarily responsible for robotics software and simulation-related products, including robot learning simulation, synthetic data generation, and related directions.
According to NVIDIA's disclosures, for fiscal year 2026, Madison's total compensation was approximately $1.232 million, roughly equivalent to 8.3 million RMB; Spencer's total compensation was approximately $1.32 million.
This inevitably leads external observers to a topic: nepotism. At an NVIDIA all-hands meeting in 2025, Jensen Huang did not avoid the issue, candidly admitting that the company indeed employs many children of employees, but parents typically would not easily recommend children who might bring them shame. He even joked that the performance of some "NVIDIA second generation" has surpassed that of their parents.
After twists and turns, both siblings returned to NVIDIA, and moreover, converged on the company's next battleground—robotics.
China's Hottest Sector
This year's World Robot Conference remains bustling.
Nearly 400 companies brought over 3,000 exhibits, with more than 300 new products launched collectively. Beyond dancing, boxing, and playing table tennis, more and more robots are beginning to handle material transport, sorting goods, operating equipment, appearing in real-world scenarios like automotive manufacturing, logistics, and commercial services.
The changes on the exhibition floor also reflect the entire industry. Over the past few years, China's humanoid robots have rapidly progressed from 0 to 1. Startups have emerged densely, whole-machine iterations have accelerated, and core component supply chains have gradually taken shape. Capital has flowed in, with funding records and valuations constantly being refreshed.
Now, the first batch of companies is beginning to ring the bell.
On the very day the World Robot Conference opened, Unitree Technology officially debuted on the STAR Market, with its stock price surging over 600% on the first day.
The IPO queue is accelerating. Agile Robots announced the initiation of its listing process in Hong Kong; CloudMinds' STAR Market IPO application has been accepted; companies like Leju Intelligence, ZhiPingFang, Independent Variable Robotics, LimX Dynamics, ZhongQing Robotics, Stardust Intelligence, and Galaxy General are also advancing their capitalization processes.
According to incomplete statistics, at the doorstep of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange alone, there are already over 50 robotics-related enterprises queuing. However, the bell is not the finish line. The capital market can assign valuations, but ultimately, the answer must come from the industry itself.
In the first half of this year, shipments of humanoid robots in China exceeded 40,000 units. Following rapid growth in numbers, more critical questions are emerging: Can robots adapt to more tasks? Can they, facing unfamiliar environments, still understand instructions and complete actions?
The real contest for robots thus shifts from the "body" to the "brain."
Wang Xingxing mentioned at this World Robot Conference that the true "ChatGPT moment" for robots should be when they enter an unseen environment and can complete the vast majority of tasks based solely on voice or text instructions. He estimates this day may still be two to ten years away.
This also brings the competition to a deeper level.
China already possesses one of the world's most comprehensive manufacturing systems. A robot, from components to the whole machine, completes R&D, production, and iteration at an extremely fast pace. More importantly, vast industrial scenarios like automotive, 3C, logistics, and retail provide a rare testing ground for robots.
Robots are built here and then deployed into the real world. When global tech giants turn their gaze to China's robotics industry, what they see is not just densely emerging startups, but a genuine industrial competition.
Next, the real test is just beginning.
