Interactive Brokers Integrates ChatGPT and Grok for AI-Driven Trading

On June 23, Interactive Brokers (IBKR) announced the official integration of ChatGPT and Grok to enhance its Agentic Trading capabilities. This follows a significant update after the previous integration of Anthropic Claude. Existing clients of Interactive Brokers can access this integrated feature at no additional cost. After the upgrade, users can securely link their IBKR accounts with mainstream AI platforms to conduct portfolio analysis, market opportunity research, and generate trading instructions using natural language. In addition to the existing assets of stocks and ETFs, this update expands the asset classes supported by AI instructions to include options, futures, and futures options. The interactive features have been launched across various Interactive Brokers platforms, including Client Portal, IBKR Desktop, IBKR Mobile, and Trader Workstation (TWS). In terms of security design, Interactive Brokers employs a human-in-the-middle architecture. AI-generated trading instructions are non-binding drafts that are automatically stored in a dedicated 'AI Instructions' tab on the Interactive Brokers platform, requiring manual review and confirmation by the user before placing an order. Furthermore, the certified connector is managed by Interactive Brokers, ensuring that account passwords or API keys are not shared with AI providers, and users can revoke access permissions at any time in the settings.
