Tóm tắt

According to a Monday report, Strive company increased its cash reserves by $17.1 million in the same week it spent approximately $81.5 million to purchase 1,110 bitcoin. This indicates the Dallas-based asset manager is raising funds from stock sales faster than it spends on cryptocurrency. As of August 21, Strive held $171.9 million in cash and equivalents, up from the previous week. The bitcoin was acquired at an average price of around $73,409 per coin, funded by issuing common and preferred shares (ASST and SATA) on the open market. This purchase brought Strive's total bitcoin holdings to 21,356 BTC, a 5.5% increase, making it the seventh-largest corporate bitcoin holder. The top holder remains Michael Saylor's MicroStrategy with 840,447 BTC. CEO Matt Cole expressed strong confidence that the bitcoin bear market has ended, citing breakouts against the US dollar and gold. Despite reporting a net loss of $257.6 million for the last quarter—primarily due to a decline in the fair value of its bitcoin—the company has continued acquiring coins throughout the market downturn, including previous purchases around $60,000. Strive's ASST shares rose following the report.

According to a report published on Monday, Strive increased its cash reserves by $17.1 million during the same week it spent approximately $81.5 million purchasing 1,110 bitcoin.

This gap indicates that the Dallas-based asset management company is raising money from stock sales faster than it is spending it on cryptocurrency.

How Cash Grew While $81.5 Million Was 'Stolen'

As of August 21, Strive had $171.9 million in cash and cash equivalents, which is $154.8 million more than a week earlier, according to an 8-K filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. During the same period, the company acquired bitcoin at an average price of about $73,409 per coin.

Funding this amount and ending the week with additional cash required new stock issuance. Strive financed the purchase through offerings of its ASST common stock and SATA preferred stock on the open market.

The number of outstanding Class A shares increased by more than 3.6 million to 79,890,888, while the number of SATA shares issued rose by 441,313.

The company continued to hold 505,000 shares of Strategy's STRC preferred stock. The fair value of this position increased to $48.6 million.

Strive had previously acquired 147 bitcoin at about $64,800 each, and then another 79 coins the following week at $63,231 each.

Last week's haul was roughly five times larger than the sum of those two prior rounds combined, and at a much higher price.

Last week Bitcoin surged nearly 25% and closed Friday at $77,387, before trading near $80,000 on Monday.

Strive's ASST stock closed Friday at $18.22, up roughly 13%, and gained over 7% on Monday following the filing's publication.

The acquisition of 1,110 coins increased the total holdings to 21,356 $BTC, up 5.5% from the 20,246 recorded in mid-August.

Strive's Place Among Corporate Bitcoin Holders

Strive ranks seventh among public companies by the amount of bitcoin held.

The list is led by Michael Saylor's Strategy with 840,447 $BTC, followed by Twenty One Capital with 43,514, Metaplanet with 43,000, MARA with 35,577, and Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company with 30,021.

Strategy stated that between August 17 and 23, it sold about $2 billion worth of its stock without selling a single unit of bitcoin.

In 2025, Strive rebranded, becoming the first publicly traded bitcoin treasury asset management company, and in January 2026 completed the acquisition of Semler Scientific in a stock deal.

On August 10, Strive reported a net loss of $257.6 million, almost entirely caused by a drop in the fair value of its bitcoin, meaning last quarter's results looked poor on paper, as Cryptopolitan reported.

CEO Matt Cole stated on Sunday that he has "very strong" confidence that the bitcoin bear market is over, citing the asset's breakout against the U.S. dollar and gold.

Cole stated that bitcoin bottomed against gold in February, about five months before it bottomed against the dollar in July, and claims the bitcoin-to-gold ratio is a reliable indicator of relative performance.

As Cryptopolitan reported, his firm remained on the offensive throughout the downturn, even adding coins during previous rounds when it bought them for around $60,000.
