2. How Does Haedal Work?
Users stake their SUI tokens, and in return, they receive haSUI, allowing them to continue participating in DeFi activities for additional yield. In addition to the liquid staking protocol, Haedal is building a suite of products, including Haedal Market Maker, which generates continuous additional on-chain yield for Haedal and its LST ecosystem.
haToken, an abbreviation for Haedal staking token, is obtained by users when they stake SUI or WAL via Haedal's liquid staking infrastructure. This haToken is a yield-generating asset representing the user's stake within Haedal and a proportional share of the total liquid staked value. As the staking pool consistently accrues validator rewards for safeguarding the Sui network, the value of the haToken (be it haSUI or haWAL) will increase in relation to SUI or WAL. Notably, haToken will preserve all key functionalities of SUI and will be usable across the Sui ecosystem.

3. Who Founded the Haedal Protocol?

In January 2025, Haedal Protocol announced the completion of its seed funding round, with participation from Hashed, Comma3 Ventures, OKX Ventures, Animoca Ventures, and Sui Foundation, among others.

4. Haedal Protocol Tokenomics
Ecosystem Incentives: 55%, designed to incentivize the adoption of Haedal and its Liquid Staking Token (LST) throughout the Sui ecosystem, encompassing user rewards and strategic partnerships.
Liquidity Fund: 10%, allocated for initial liquidity provision, continuous support for Centralized and Decentralized Exchange liquidity, and strategic liquidity programs.
Investors: 15%, subject to a 6-month lock-up period, followed by a linear vesting schedule over 12 months.
Team & Advisors: 20%, subject to a 12-month lock-up period, followed by a linear vesting schedule over 24 months.

5. Timeline of Key Milestones
May 2025: Haedal announced the initiation of a token buyback program. On a weekly basis, Haedal will allocate 50% of the protocol's generated revenue to directly buy back HAEDAL tokens from the secondary market.
April 2025: Haedal publicly released its tokenomics model.
