What is EthereumPoW (ETHW)

1. Project Introduction
EthereumPoW (ETHW) is the Proof-of-Work (PoW) fork of Ethereum that remained after The Merge. Following Ethereum's transition to Proof-of-Stake (PoS), this project continues the original work-based consensus route. It retains the Ethereum account model, EVM compatibility, and mining-based block production, serving as a public chain that preserves the original PoW mechanism.

2. Operating Mechanism
EthereumPoW continues to employ the PoW mining mechanism, where miners are responsible for packaging transactions and maintaining network security. The network maintains EVM compatibility, allowing original Ethereum development tools and contract frameworks to be used on ETHW. According to the initial official release, the project removed the difficulty bomb and modified the EIP-1559 fee mechanism. The base fee is redirected to a multi-signature address jointly managed by miners and the community, rather than being burned as on the Ethereum mainnet. The ETHW mainnet chain ID is 10001.

3. Team & Investment Info
ETHW was initiated by ETHW Core, which is described as an anonymous group composed of developers, miners, and members of the crypto community. The project has not disclosed a traditional corporate entity or institutional funding arrangements. In December 2023, ETHW Core announced the dissolution of its core development organization, and the network further transitioned toward a more autonomous, community-governed model.

4. Token Info
ETHW is the native asset of the EthereumPoW chain, used to pay network Gas fees and distribute block rewards to miners. The project has not separately disclosed a fixed maximum supply. The on-chain asset state was inherited from the Ethereum ledger at the time of the fork, and additional tokens continue to be generated through PoW block production. Therefore, it should not be described as having a fixed total supply or as a "non-inflationary" asset.

5. Milestones
August 14, 2022: ETHW Core released the first version of the code, confirming the removal of the difficulty bomb and the adjustment of the fee mechanism.
August 29, 2022: ETHW Core published an open letter to the Ethereum community.
September 12, 2022: ETHW announced its mainnet launch plan.
September 15, 2022: The ETHW mainnet went live, with the Chain ID confirmed as 10001.
December 19, 2023: ETHW Core issued a dissolution statement, and the project moved further toward autonomous community governance.
