Russia Makes a Shocking Decision Regarding Telegram Founder Pavel Durov! The Price of This Altcoin Has Fallen!
Russia has accused Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov of abetting terrorism, according to a Reuters report citing Interfax. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) formally charged Durov and issued an international arrest warrant, alleging Telegram failed to remove content used by Ukrainian special services and terrorist organizations to coordinate sabotage, terrorism, and cyber fraud in Russia.
Durov and Telegram have not commented. This development occurs alongside Durov's ongoing trial in France, where he faced arrest in August 2024 on twelve charges, mainly concerning inadequate content moderation linked to issues like child sexual abuse and drug trafficking. He was later released.
Meanwhile, The Open Network (TON), Telegram's affiliated blockchain, recently rebranded its token from Toncoin to Gram ($GRAM). Following the news of the Russian charges, the price of $GRAM fell by approximately 2%, trading around $1.40 at the time of reporting.
