Status, a long-standing Ethereum open-source project, has relaunched with a major update including a unified privacy super-app, a gasless Layer 2 network, and a satirical sci-fi cartoon series called "USS Status." The cartoon humorously critiques crypto's chaotic history, featuring familiar industry characters and events. The revamped Status app combines a secure crypto wallet, encrypted messenger, and privacy-focused browser. Additionally, the new Status Network, built on zkEVM Linea, offers gasless transactions through a reputation-based system funded by native yield. The mainnet launch is scheduled for Q1 2026.
