Он также анонсировал большое количество правок к законопроекту «О виртуальных активах».

3 сентября 2025 года Верховная Рада Украины проголосовала за принятие законопроекта «О виртуальных активах» в первом чтении. Позже в интервью для «РБК-Украина» глава парламентского Комитета по вопросам финансов, налоговой и таможенной политики Даниил Гетманцев отметил, что в законопроект могут внести много правок.

Также он заявил, что криптовалюта не будет платежным средством. По словам Гетманцева, это даже может быть хуже, чем разрешить обращение евро или доллара, поскольку вопрос касается национальной безопасности и суверенитета.

Политик отметил, что не настаивает ни на каких принципиальных положениях в законопроекте. По его мнению, целесообразно подготовить оптимальную редакцию закона, что возможно лишь при условии наличия достаточно аргументированной критики.

«Проблема с этим законом была в том, что его никто серьезно не готовил. […] Если бы комитет (финансовый комитет ВР) не взялся за него, то документ бы не дошел до первого чтения. Тот текст, который я, как глава комитета, получил в марте, был некачественный — было впечатление, что он писался ChatGPT. Мы делали рабочую конструкцию текста, но у меня пока нет окончательного ответа на вопрос, все ли там так как надо», — пояснил Гетманцев.

Депутат отметил, что поскольку это новый рынок, он очень боится возможных ошибок и хотел бы привлечь как можно больше специалистов, которых сейчас очень мало, для доработки закона ко второму чтению. Он готов менять все положения, кроме вопроса предоставления льгот — налогообложение для этих операций останется стандартным, по образцу операций с ценными бумагами.

Гетманцев подчеркнул, что все остальные изменения будут внесены, если они обоснованы и правильны. Принятие закона не будет поспешным, и даже если полномочия этой каденции Верховной Рады завершатся, законопроект после первого чтения перейдет в наследство новой Раде.
