GOAT Network has partnered with Latin American fintech platform DitoBanx to launch a pilot program for Bitcoin self-custody yield in Mexico, reaching over 100,000 users. The initiative introduces GOAT's white-label product, Safebox, within DitoBanx's regulated mobile app. This non-custodial solution allows users to earn Bitcoin-denominated yields without transferring asset custody or participating in lending schemes. Unlike traditional yield models that rely on centralized custody or credit-based mechanisms, Safebox offers principal protection and is powered by GOAT Network’s decentralized sequencer rewards. Users retain full control of their Bitcoin private keys while earning a 1.5% annualized yield over a three-month pilot period. The collaboration combines DitoBanx’s regulated onboarding, fiat rails, and user-friendly interface with a structurally distinct yield mechanism, reducing counterparty risk. The pilot aims to enhance Bitcoin-based financial accessibility in Latin America and may expand to other markets where DitoBanx operates. GOAT Network has launched the GOAT BitVM2 Testnet V3, a Bitcoin-native zkRollup solution designed to enable BTC participation in financial activities without relying on custodians, committees, or multi-signature trust assumptions. This testnet addresses the core challenge of whether Bitcoin can act as the ultimate arbiter for off-chain computations, ensuring security and trust in extreme scenarios like attacks or system failures. Unlike existing Bitcoin L2 solutions that depend on trusted bridges, honest majority assumptions, or external chain settlements, GOAT’s approach leverages BitVM2 technology. BitVM2 uses Bitcoin’s existing primitives—pre-signed transactions, one-time signatures, and Taproot—to create a challenge-based execution mechanism. This allows Bitcoin to enforce correctness and resolve disputes without requiring protocol upgrades. Key features of the testnet include: - Off-chain execution with zkVM-based validity proofs. - Transaction ordering anchored to Bitcoin. - Withdrawals and disputes ultimately settled by Bitcoin’s consensus rules. - Permissionless participation for challengers and verifiers. GOAT has enhanced BitVM2 for practical deployment by improving Bitcoin-anchored sequencing, enabling efficient withdrawals, reducing fraud-proof data volume by ~1000x via Garbled Circuits and DV-SNARKs, and implementing a 1-of-n honest security model. The system also includes a Type-1 zkEVM, decentralized sequencer architecture, and an audited zkVM (Ziren) proof engine. This testnet is a significant step toward validating whether Bitcoin can support a trustless financial ecosystem. It allows users to experience Bitcoin-guaranteed exits, developers to deploy EVM dApps and participate in optimistic challenges, and the industry to evaluate Bitcoin’s capacity as a foundational layer for decentralized finance.
