По словам Дахала, работа началась в 2019 году в рамках исследовательского и опытно-конструкторского крыла фонда, который начал с чтения материалов в Интернете и просмотра видеороликов на YouTube о том, как майнить биткоины.

Скрытность объектов

В 2020 году Бутан уже приступил к строительству первой майнинговой площадки. По словам чиновников, к 2022 году Бутан начал работу уже на четырех государственных платформах. По сообщениям WSJ со ссылкой на чиновников, таких мест для майнинга уже шесть на текущий момент.
