Injective Institutional Services, an organization affiliated with the Injective blockchain ecosystem, has announced the effective registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a transfer agent. This adds regulated securities recordkeeping to Injective's tokenization infrastructure.
A post on Wednesday stated that the registration enables the affiliated organization to maintain records of securities holders and process changes in ownership structure. This is a key function in traditional securities markets and can also support tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
The company plans to integrate the transfer agent functions with Injective Mint—a platform for issuing and managing tokenized assets.
The registration follows the expansion of Injective's tokenization efforts in recent months. These include markets providing access to digital asset custodian companies, stocks, and shares in pre-IPO companies.
As reported by Cointelegraph, Injective Institutional Services filed an application with the SEC to register as a transfer agent in July.
Transfer agents are part of the regulated infrastructure on which U.S. securities markets operate. They maintain records of securities holders and process ownership changes. This function is particularly relevant for the on-chain issuance and transfer of securities.
