Секретная служба Северного округа Нью-Йорка ликвидировала веб-домен NFT-UNI.com, созданный мошенниками для кражи пользовательских криптоактивов через схему «забой свиней».

Мошенники связывались с жертвами, в основном с пожилыми людьми, и постепенно налаживали с ними доверительные отношения. В конечном итоге аферисты предлагали им «бизнес-идею» — инвестировать в криптовалюты. Жертв убеждали вложить деньги в поддельное инвестиционное приложение, а получив средства, мошенники просто обрывали связь и исчезали.

Так, в период с ноября 2023 года по март 2024 года создатели NFT-UNI.com убедили жертву из округа Уоррен перевести деньги на их платформу, заверив в легальности инвестиций. После получения депозита злоумышленники «разбросали» эти деньги по разным банковским счетам, чтобы скрыть источник средств. В общей сложности инвестор потерял $172 405.

Что касается других жертв, пострадавших от криптосхемы NFT-UNI, общая сумма их убытков составила примерно $4,5 млн. Домен NFT-UNI.com уже заблокирован правоохранителями. В мае 2024 года Секретная служба США ликвидировала еще один домен OKEX-NFT.net, который использовался в аналогичной схеме для кражи криптовалют.

В марте законодатели Нью-Йорка предложили ужесточить уголовное наказание за криптомошенничество. Нарушителям может грозить штраф до $5 млн и тюремное заключение сроком до 20 лет.
