Experiments on 8 LLM-based models show that explicit MWM reasoning significantly improves action prediction accuracy (F1 score rising from 63.3 to 87.9 on average), with the largest gains in social interaction scenarios. A key finding is that the primary remaining bottleneck is the simulation of state transitions. The work formalizes MWM and demonstrates its necessity for systems where behavior depends on variables not inferable from physical scenes alone.
