Goldman Sachs: SpaceX AI Revenue Expected to Increase 100-Fold by 2030

On June 4, the Financial Times reported that Goldman Sachs expects one of the core assumptions underpinning SpaceX's $1.78 trillion IPO valuation is that its AI division's revenue will grow approximately 100-fold by 2030 compared to 2025. In forecasts presented to potential investors, Goldman Sachs predicts that SpaceX's AI revenue will rise from $3.2 billion in 2025 to $322 billion by 2030; total revenue for SpaceX is expected to increase from $18.7 billion last year to $474 billion by 2030. This forecast comes as SpaceX launches its IPO roadshow, which could raise up to $86 billion. The SpaceX prospectus indicates that its AI division, xAI, will incur a loss of $6.4 billion in 2025, but the total potential market size for this division is set at $26.5 trillion, significantly higher than the combined potential market size of about $2 trillion for Starlink internet services and space operations. Goldman Sachs also forecasts that SpaceX's AI revenue will grow by 388% year-over-year in 2026 to $15.6 billion and reach $34.5 billion by 2027. In comparison, Goldman Sachs predicts that Starlink's revenue will be $144 billion by 2030, while the rocket business will generate $8.3 billion. If these AI growth predictions hold true, Musk's Grok series models will need to catch up and surpass leading labs such as Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI, achieving breakthroughs in key areas such as coding, cybersecurity, AI agents, and chatbots.
